Where is the fish?

Heading down during spring break with the Ranger wife and kid, staying on St. George, I will fish the drains there but will surley fish St. Marks before I leave, any pointers.

Where might "here" be? Being that I recognize my many deficiencies (fishing being but one) I wouldn't be offended at all if you PM'd me some specifics (i.e. numbers/locations). Oh, if you don't mind, please include tides, moon phases, water depth, baits, temp, etc.... that I should consider.

Ron, I'm absolutely covered up with work, personal issues, and preparation for Saturday's tournament registration. I've put your request in my Outlook tasks list. Looking at my calendar, and other items on my task list, I should have time to research my records, gather your requested information, and reply to you by mid July.

Ron, I'll give you my two cents worth for St. Marks. Put in at the light house head East for around 4 Miles. If you have a GPS find Gray Mare rock on it that will be East of the Light House, if your not familiar with the area make sure you stay out at least 1 1/2 to 2 miles off shore when running it is rocky in close but that's where the fish are. I would stop a good ways out and Idle in start in about 2ft and work in from there hit all the Creek mouths rock piles and oyster bars you see using top water and jerk baits. There is a great site you can check out that has all the hot spot GPS# and the best baits at that time that site is ( jerrysbait.com ) it will update you where the fish are at that time----Good luck

Mid July? Perfect, that will probably be around the time I'll be able to break free for my next trip.

If you can put in at the state park on the island you will be real close to some good fishing there. Find grass or structure and start fishing. 4' or less is where I would start and keep a close eye out for bait. From the landing in the park you can fish east or west. Good luck.

You can put in right next to the bridge on the island if the tide is good. Head East and fish behind the island as AJ said. Hit up the pass if the weather stays warm, drag a spoon or rattle trap for spanish.

Thanks, I know where you are talking about. My only problem with putting in at the park is you are putting in right on top of an oyster bar, and 40,000 dollor rangers and those things don't mix to well althouth they have met several times. I will probably put in at the ramp on the river in the reserve. It takes me about ten to fifteen minutes to get to where you are talking about. Thanks again for the information.
