A unique website dedicated to fishing information from Florida's Northern Big Bend. This includes the area from the Econfina River west to the Apalachicola River
If you have the blue charts CD, then you have Mapsource. When you click the link for the file you should be prompted to either open it or save it to your computer. You need to download the file to your computer, instead of opening it. Then open your mapsource program and open the .mps file that you just saved. All the points should then be displayed on your screen. Then you can download them to your GPS.
Well tom I finaly got to download the Oar file on to my lap top. But when I try to open it with Mapsource it tells me that this file was created in a diff. verison of Map Source?? And will not let me
I am new to the forum. I have been reading it a while and decided to join in. I saw the post for the mapsource file on the local reefs. I just got a Garmin 162 gps. How can I use this download for my gps? I just got it and have not studied the book yet.
my gps came with the pc cable but no software. I guess I need to buy cd. Is the fishing hot spots cd worth anything or is it the same numbers shown on local charts?
No, the fishing hot spots is for freshwater inland lakes. I would recommend getting the Bluecharts Software. That will add NOAA Nautical maps to your machine. Bluecharts comes with Mapsource.
