Quantum Catalyst Inshore 20 or 30 is plenty for inshore fishing. I use the 20's with 8 or 10# Power Pro and the 30's with 15# Tuf-Line. The 20 size is by far the one I use most though. With braid it will easily handle a gator trout or slot red. If you prefer mono, go with the 30 size. The 40 size Quantum's are too big for inshore use, they are larger than 4000 sized Shimano's, unless you plan to use them for cobia, tarpon, or similar.

My 2cents worth: I really have researched this question to the point of obsession. Stradic? Sure, great inshore reel, especially the 2500. That said, you can get essentially the same reel and save $40.00: Shimanno Symetre.

I love my boca pts 40......alot more ballsack than the stradics, the drag is really impressive still after 1.5 yrs of fishing w/ it. A little cheaper price tag for basically the same reel as the cabo...except for the holes in the spool :thumbup:
