How long do you plan on keeping your boat?

You can buy a new 115 Yamaha 115TLRD - 2005 for $5200. You might even be able to get them to throw in controls. I saw that on boats.net non current models. There are other large volume dealers that sometimes beat their prices. Call the three big ones and see what you can get. Give your current motor to the mechanic for the installation if you have to.

The other option is to get a second opinion, and see if you have any other options w/ your current motor. This might not be necessary if your comfortable w/ the mechanic, but it doesn't hurt to call around.

Wish I knew more about motors.

Me too WF4F. :o I'm pretty much at the mechanic's mercy. However, I do trust him. I love, absolutely, without mercy, LOVE my boat!!!!!! There are alot of boats out there, alot of boats I would like to own, but I cannnot imagine LIFE without MY boat!! I love it that much. I mean.......that boat is my baby. I have taken such great care of that boat, I can't believe this has happened. But, alas, it has. I am gonna fix it. Fix it right. I shall return! :-D
