It's what you said at Carrabelle, "Where the heck is my F-ing tackle box."

Does anyone know if you can remove a trap that CLEARLY has been abandoned? I have seen a few of them but didn't want to touch them because I didn't know if I'd be breaking any laws. As we all know they can be dangerous so I hate to spy one and just leave it for someone to mess-up their boat when the hit it.....

Yep, you can remove them. In fact there is some organization, I can't remember the name, that has a clean up day on the Gulf. Where they remove things such as abandoned crab traps from the waters.

Be careful. In fact they can only be removed on those state sanctioned cleanup days. Any other time thay are still protected.

There are a couple of small rock piles a couple hundred yards off the point on the west side of Stoney. They use to have a small pvc marker, but I think it was gone last I was there. There is also the chance of rocks just under the sand in that area. I was clear of all those piles once, and went to get on a plane, and dug down just a hair and caught one. Just a ding on the prop, but still not fun.

Thanks for the info, everyone.

I think maybe I'll just try to follow JT51 and his "Floating" (?) :-? tackle box.

I might even take him up on his tour to redfish point.

We'll do it in your boat. That way you get the best feel for it. :smt005

Git you a mudmotor like a pro-drive and rocks are nothing to you.
