Chipola, if you have ever been caught it one of the thick as pea soup fog banks that will roll in off the gulf, you will understand the benefits of Radar on any vessel. Also determining the speed and course of a passing T-storm can mean the difference between running into 10 foot seas, or continuing to fish.

jumper, I would like to go fishing with you. My wife talked me into a 25 when, what I wanted was a 23. She went for a cc only because it has a poty in the console. E-mail me before you come down.I will be going after trout the 24th thru 26th and will let you know how we do. The 162 and 240 sounds like a good setup.

Sea Fox,
The WA was my wives choice due to enclosed potty and place to have the daughter play. Take my portable DVD and my daughter watches movies on the way out and when she gets bored with fishing. Love to have you along. I will let you know.

My biggest concern is that you guys will make me look bad. From what I can tell you guys are stuff legends are made of.

Look forward to learning the ways.

Have you seen TC? It would be hard to make him look any worse.

Currently West Marine is offering $30 off a $300 purchase
http://www.westmarine.com/images/flonet ... 30_FL.html
Garmin is offering a $25 rebate on the 240 and 240 Blue
http://www.garmin.com/whatsNew/currentpromotions/
GPSCity.com has the 162 with an external antenna for $345, which West will price match. You can get the 240 with transducer for $299. $644 - $30 from west marine -$25 from Garmin = $589.

Granted I didn't include taxes etc. but you should be pretty close to $600 after all is said and done.
