My knots work fine and take less than 7 minutes to tie.

Mine looks more like this.

I use this knot for just about every "line to line" connection I make. I have never had it fail, although a knot with a slimmer profile for going thru the guides may interest me.

I tried the sebile knot last time out and am very impressed with how well it passes through the guides. Too bad I haven't tested it against an actual worthy fish yet. It is definitely worth learning, and several variations can be found on youtube or google.

A new way to join mono and braid.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lF1u8bnwB4Y
What I found very useful is the dowels used to tighten the knots. I made a pair out of 3/4" hardwood dowel and I used a knife to make the groove. I placed the dowel on a board and rolled it with the knife edge while pressing down firmly. This can also be done with a pipe cutter.
Be careful. Test the knot tightening 2 or three times before using it on your fishing rig. It is very easy to over tighten your knots!!!!!!!
This really saves your hands. A simple and effective way to tighten fishing knots.

Wow, what a process!

I like the physics of it though, like a finger trap.

Check out this one, the Double Grinner.

Like the double-uni but different.

This guy does NOT like the double uni. (I think that's what he tied here, somebody correct me.)
