I second the water pressure gauge recommendation. It’ll tweak your rig.

Very good point TC. Plus it keeps me from having to look back to see if the engines still "peeing". When your running that shallow you normally don't need to take your eyes off the ball.

After running mine up 6" it still peed fine on plane. Don't know at slower speeds. It may also be the tunnel design effects the amount of water going back there.

Bob's machine has probably the best jack plate on the market. The prices on the jack plates vary some what from 700-$1100 dollars. Depends if you want the guage for the jack plate too. Low water pick ups sounds good, but like TC said, if you run up on a sand bar you will be in big trouble. The plumbing used for the low water pick up in usually 1/2", which is about double or triple the size of the regular water pick up. It also costs around 5-600 dollars for the low water pick up to be done right.
