I caught a 24 in trout in June that spit up a 10 in baby trout in the net. I don't know how he thought he could fit anything else down his gullet

I got one. Was out of Enky a couple of years back with Onekeeper having one of those 100 fish days. Hooked a small keeper on the way to the boat I think he grew a little as I said to Chuck then he came by the boat, it was a 7+lb Trout--( Had a witness)-- with about a half inch fish tail out of his mouth. Reeled him in just out of reach, yes we lost the big one but got the one he had in his mouth or I'll say gut, it was a 15 1/2 inch trout on the golden ruler which got two lives back that day as I but him in the water and watched him swim off

Then came the

and heavy beer drinking

I rarely clean a red, but I have found up to 6" - 8" trout in their bellies, the same in trout., Though I never keep a trout over 24" unless money is on the line.

Natural and smelly baits are cheap, unless you catch them yourself, then they are 1337.
I personally think where and how you are fishing your bait is more important than the bait you fish. Some of my favorite ways are topwater just for the extra bit the sound and sight of a plug getting hit, sight casting which takes casting skill and stealth into consideration, or finding fish on hidden structure.
But when its all said and done, I dont really mind catching fish on a blind cast either.
Its all secondary to having a good time. And having a good time might involve giving your friend a hard time about having to resort to sissy bait to catch fish.

I seldom get to go. When I do, I want every advantage that is available to me. You guys that post a few reports a week have time to learn finesse and presentation. When I go, I want something to bite what I throw out there to 'em. I like fishing with Gulp. I love fishing with livebait. Doesn't make feel inferior or any less of a fisherman than those of you who choose other artificials.

Don't take any of what I said too seriously, trout fisher. CairoTrout was just poking at me by starting this thread and I was just poking him back.

BD is not a Gulp snob, he's just waiting for the price to become a little more reasonable before he starts feeding the pinfish
