Aw! The mighty Landing Craft Air Cushioned (LCAC). Rode on several times. They have troop compartments on the sides where you can't see anything, but the ride isn't bad. Can inflate and deflate pretty quick and fairly fast in calm seas. Takes time to load/unload (more of a follow-on sustainment capability than an an initial assault capability). Best ride of all was sitting in the Captain's cabin as we landed in Norway, on a clear February night. What a beautiful site. The next two weeks were rough (read cold and sleepless), but beautiful nonetheless.Chalk wrote:Not that one...see these all day longGood Times wrote:Chalk see these all the time in St. Andrews Bay.
