Aw! The mighty Landing Craft Air Cushioned (LCAC). Rode on several times. They have troop compartments on the sides where you can't see anything, but the ride isn't bad. Can inflate and deflate pretty quick and fairly fast in calm seas. Takes time to load/unload (more of a follow-on sustainment capability than an an initial assault capability). Best ride of all was sitting in the Captain's cabin as we landed in Norway, on a clear February night. What a beautiful site. The next two weeks were rough (read cold and sleepless), but beautiful nonetheless.

How shallow and how dry are relative terms.

Shallow for a trout trip is often real deep for reds what is your goal?

Most boats won't do one as well as the other.

I am enjoying my carolina skiff, she's very roomy, very shallow able, ok in bigger waves, but sucks in the dry department.

Mudducker has made it clear it is much drier if I back off the stick some.

I wish I had a Panga!

I am thinking a boat that will fish for reds and trout AND will be a good ride in chop. Also one that is designed to throw the chop away, if conditions are right with the wind and the direction you are going.

A Panga might be good.
