Went to the Econfina, the river is bone dry (except for a few deep holes where there is still some water) at the highway 98 bridge. There was a really high tide down at the fish camp, and there was plenty of tidal water.
The Aucilla is full at Highway 98 - more full than usual, plenty of water, great flow.
The Fenholloway is (according to SRWMD website) 2 feet above normal.
If the drought is the reason for the Econfina being dry, this does not make sense. If it were the drought, the Fenholloway would be down too, as the San Pedro Bay is the headwaters for both rivers.
Maybe the new limerock mine close to the Econfina has been blasting and digging and has interfered with underground flow to the Econfina. Or maybe Buckeye has closed off one or more of the canals draining the San Pedro Bay into the Econfina, and that's why it has gone dry.
I don't think it's just the drought at work drying up the Econfina.

I was at the Wacissa recently and it is low! I wouldn't dive from the diving board at the lot, that's for sure.
