1996 Johnson. Ran great all year until the weather started to change. Runs great while running although sounded rough yesterday after a fingers-crossed run to what I dubbed Plymouth Rock (aka the landing), cause I sure felt like a Pilgrim. Just got a new impeller, thermostat, and plugs.

I can see were carbs would have an issue just setting full of gas with no Stabil or Seafoam added. I ran a F115 for 5 years and have been running a F225 now for almost a year and have had no problems at all after sitting. They are both fuel injected of course and I have used Sea Foam for years now and have never had 1 problem starting or running after sitting 60+ days at a time.

I seem to think my problem is some sort of cooling issue. Runs great for about 45 minutes and then begins to run rough and conk out. After 20 minutes or so, it will start right back. Baffled.

Sounds more electronic ta me Bog :o coil, rectifier or power pack will do that same thing. If it's peeing, you got an electronic problem  If it's not peeing and you keep running it, it's got an even bigger problem :-D :smt004

I've been looking at boats lately and will most likely get a 60 Yamaha Four Stroke. I really like the 40 but its not EFI. The 50 is the first one that is, and if your getting a fifty, you might as well get a 60. The dealer told me the name of the only additive you should put in there, was RING FREE

Makes sense because Ringfree is a Yamalube (Yamaha) product probably only available through Yamaha, or a Yamaha-authorized dealer!
