That is a great picture of a great bird. BG.

Here is a picture I took of three young Ospreys while working on the SGI Bridge. The same nest location produced two young Ospreys in 2002 and one 2003, then these three in 2004. These Ospreys were about the size of chickens when this photo was taken. Also the concrete test pile supporting the nest is 54" in diameter.

Cool pics Ty!!

I think there might be two birds now. The one in the pictures seems a little smaller than the one we watched in the trees yesterday. I couldn't get a picture of the big bird yesterday because I ran out of batteries for the camera. Hopefully the bigger one will be back today so I can get a picture and compare the two, if there are actually two birds.

That is very cool. I helped research this once when I worked for an environmental lawyer in Florida and unfortunately they are no longer endangered they are considered a threatened species which makes their habitat unprotected even though the animal, nest, and eggs are protected. Contact the FWC for more info.
