I would recomend the max HP rated for the boat if you can swing it.

Aren't you the one that told me those HP rating plates were the "minimum suggested HP"?

Know two people that has the Etec, they both said it's the best running motor they have every had and they both have had yamaha's and Merc's---it will be my next one

I have heard some negatives on the larger etecs blowing heads. If I were you and wanted a newer motor I would look hard at Tohatsu. Very hard, I am now.
