We fished every depth from 6' to 18". We attempted to throw every bait we could think of. But the floating grass was bad, and limited our bait selection.

You got any idea what causes that "floating grass"? Over the years I take it to mean "slim pickin's!" once I encounter it! Natural or man made?

My understanding is it is a natural, annual ocurrance. The grass sheds, just like leaves on a tree.
