I am an avid fly tier who specializes in North West Trout patterns. As you would expect, those tying needs have been minimal since my relocation. I have started getting into the Redfish tying. I can wait to stick one on my 6 weight!

I've been tying for over a year now - lately I've been tying Barr flies ("Slumpbuster", "Meat Whistle" - dude has issues!) and slinky fiber/puglisi fiber 'gills.

Good looking flys Terrier! I've tried those Puglisi peanut butters but need some more practice.

Yeah, those 'peanut butter' patterns can be tough - I tied them way too thick at first. I think the trick is to use small amounts of fiber. Like a clouser, tie them sparse. Also, using curved scissors to trim/shape has helped a lot.

I'll send you some in a few months. The picture doesn't do these things justice. There's a lot of flaws and I fully expect everything to unravel on the 1st cast.

That dog will hunt. Looks really good BD. Feels good when a fish eats one of your own bugs.

BD, now how about your recipe for how you tied it.
