I would rather not chime in but the overwhelming comfort with generalizations and racism brings down the quality of the forum. Sure, people are free to ignore the thread or pass it over but there are more people looking at this site than a few good ole boys. It just seems rather trashy to me like watching Carlos Mencia or guests on Jerry Springer.

I don't have a problem with anybody getting gov't assistance if they really need it. It's good thet we have such a system in place. But it needs to be regulated a heck of a lot better. Anybody that can work needs a job, not money handed out to them. I work in health care, and you wouldn't believe the number of able-bodied people we see in the hospital that come in with no job, no insurance, and they almost always test positive for alcohol and drugs. Now, if they can't work, how is it they can find money to buy all the alcohol and drugs? They don't give that stuff away.And their hospital bills always go to the indigent care fund, which is always used up in the first quarter of the year, anyway. Go figure.

First lets cover generalizations.... Now when you see a guy with a mask and gun going into a bank, and think "That guy is going to rob a bank", that is not a generalization, that is reason based on fact. Same thing when you see someone use food stamps, then go get in a new car in their designer clothes while talking on their cell phone.

Lets get to Racism....I read every post in this thread again, and did not see ONE reference to race. But I did see a post trying to start it. Yours Boggob! I see both lazy white and blacks sittin on there arses in this country. Hell, lets offend the latinos too. I see some lazy arse Mexicans around. Is that racism? NO. Just fact. As for the Hummer and Escalade comment, I do not know about there in Fla, but up here, white folks seem to like Hummers, and black folks like Escalades. Is that racism? NO.

You running out of steam there Tennessee. Timothy McVeigh killed conservatives, liberals, blacks, whites, and probably even Christians, Muslims or Jews. He also murdered children that never hurt anyone.

Responsibility is about taking care of yourself, your family and your friends. Doing what is morally correct. NOT depending on someone else to take care of you.

(Now of course, I am not talking about disabled folks or mentally handicapped, or folks that deserve help, but the healthy lazy ones....)

MAKE folks that can work...do just that, work. If you are on welfare or food stamps, you pass a drug test. Why not, my wife has to pass a drug test at her job. She has cancer, and she still works. She does not have to financially, but she WANTS to. THAT is what America is and should be.

Quite frankly, it just pisses me off to see my sick wife work because she wants to, and there are healthy souls out there sitting on their arses because they have a liberal government handing out my wife's had earned tax dollars to them for sittin' on their butts doing nothing.

What he did was a shame and what he did was a response to gun control, abortion clinics have been blown up, and doctors, nurses killed. All done by the far right. I also believe NONE of you would condone that type of behavior. However their are Conservatives that do condone that behavior, just like there are Liberals that condone the beating of even the killing of hunters. My point is there are irresponsible people on both sides of the spectrum.
