Now that statement, I 100% agree with. The rest I could not agree less with.

Here is the problem. Our socialist world governments would not allow the ship to defend itself.

And the world you dream of with diplomacy is an illusion, and always will be. We can sit back and be pacifists, and in the future WILL be overtaken by a military power. OR we can flex our muscles, and let the rest of the world know we mean business.

It has been that way for centuries and will be in the future.

The willy nilly way our military is being manipulated by politics is going to come back and bite us in the arse one day soon. You cannot train men to go out and kill, then put them in prison when they do what they were trained to do. You also can not have a president taking 4 days to make a decision on something.

Regardless of what the doves in the world would like, force rules.

I also for the life of me can not figure out why we are sending food and medicine over to countries to grow their populations, only to have them in the future overrun us. There are PLENTY of folks here in this country that could use those funds, and also lower our taxes.

Most important communications when dealing with terrorists...
"FIRE WHEN READY" and "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED"

Double Trouble, with you bud. Half of the "pirate" pics I've seen are of teenagers in Pangas the exact same size as mine and the world's letting them hold international trade hostage? Insane. We're not talking any tough scenario like hunting for Bin Laden in remote mountain caves, as these idiots are approaching ships in open water and failure to deal harshly with them in more than seconds is crazy.

And here's my problem with every statement I've heard from the current administration. Their first sentence on terrorism... oops, I mean foreign contingency operations... is, "We MUST take action!", followed by, "And we will work with the international community to seek consensus...". Maybe we should attach a poll to see how many board members believe Russia and China are eager to seek consensus with the US on striking down terrorism... dangit, I mean foreign contingency operations... that make the US look weak.

This here potential US terrorist (I served in the US military so I'm an extreme threat) thinks our leadership and those following it have lost their minds and any recollection of world history. So very, very sad. And you won't hear me apologizing a dang bit for my country's history and the unmeasurable good we've done for the world in our 200+ years of existence, much of it at great cost to our nation's servicemen.

Here is the problem. Our socialist world governments would not allow the ship to defend itself. Maybe, but these ships are insured by the private sector, inorder to be insured they cannot be armed. Thats what I am reading. So, these componies find it cheaper to just raise premiums and pay off the hijackers, who pays in the long run, the consumer.

That is the second time you have made a comment voicing your opinion of my stance and that is the second time your assumptions are wrong. I do not dream of a world of diplomacy - I dream of a forum that was once void of this type discussion. Because I could care less - what is funny is how these topics start out on one topic and become convoluted and arrant attacks on multiple fronts and in the end only end up making someone mad. That is the real reason for my dislike and moderating of these forums topics. I joined this forum many years ago because there was none of this crap and it talked about what I liked to talk about fishing and boating. So – my ridicule and opposing comments have nothing to do with my political stance or whether I am democrat or a republican or whether I am a pacifist or authoritarian. It has to do with the intent of this forum – maybe someone should start bigbendpoliticalbitching.com – so the five that want to continue to bring this crap to the site will have somewhere to stew over their madness and discontent with the world.
