It's a bug introduced in the last board update and will be fixed in the next update. You guys should really ditch IE. ;-)

Workaround.

Type a message. Open the "view more smilies" box. Then go to "preview"

All smilies will work then, so add them in the preview.

Be sure you open the view more smilies BEFORE previewing....
