Wevans is right on. Go run it one more time. When it slows down to low rpms, put your hand in the water coming out of the pee hole in the motor. If it is more than luke-warm, you have found your problem.

Two other pieces of advice -
1. Find a new mechanic - most newer model motors shut down to 2000 rpms when they get hot, and this should have been one of the first things they checked.

2. Quit skippin' church to go fishin'- it never works out well....
