Glad you cleared that up. All my live bait offshore kingfish rigs are double trebles. I usually have one out weightless, I call it a flyline, when I am bottom fishing too. Use live cigar minnows, threads, or blue runners or whatever else I have. Hope I'm not illegal.

I asked FWC. Is it legal to use treble hooks with natural bait ie:(live bait or frozen cut bait) in salt or fresh water? The following is the reply they sent.

Good Afternoon Mr. Johnson,

A treble hook is considered by Fish and Wildlife Commission rule as a "multiple hook". The Florida Administrative Code (FAC) defines Multiple hook in Chapter 68B-4.002(9) For Gear Specifications as the following:
(9) “Multiple hookâ€

trolling for kings We've used trebbles as stingers for ever. They sell the pre-made king rigs with them at every store on the coast.
