who made you the rule committe? Doesn't make any sense if your able to change some info on your registration and not others. I understand not providing refunds; otherwise, no harm no foul. Lets go fishingJumptrout51 wrote:YesMAV wrote:CAN WE CHANGE BOATS KEEPING THE SAME TEAM ?
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

Re: R/T Shootout?????
It's a Crock to cancel, change the date, not allow a change in the team and then not refund someone's hard earned entry fee. Any organization (and I use that term lightly) that is that desperate, doesn't deserve support. I think they'd have a hard time justifying that policy - other than greed.
Aside from that though, like TideDancer said: they got you by the short ones. Best thing is to just let everyone you know the perils of participating in their little tourney with their chickensheet rules.

They don't have to justify anything - you guys think your in a democracy or something when dealing with a club or organized event? They make the rules and you have to follow them....you don't like the rules take your ball and go home
FWIW - IFA postponed the Gulfshores tournament to a Sunday and offered refunds at the captains meeting...we won the trolling motor and thought about bailing...but we didn't and took the boat home too

No...much as you would like to think that... it's a reality...applies to life in general...applies to this website, fishing clubs, work.Reel Cowboy wrote:I see you're still on that kick.Chalk wrote:They don't have to justify anything - you guys think your in a democracy or something when dealing with a club or organized event? It would seem that the best place to voice your opinions would be to Brian himself.

I agree. If a local or regional tournament wants to remain popular with the fishermen then they need to be able to bend in situations like this.Reel Cowboy wrote:It would seem that the best place to voice your opinions would be to Brian himself.
I wonder how many teams will show up for the next R/T tournament? Who knows, but fishermen have a good memory and will remember the down side of fishing a tournament like this.
It would be nice for the powers that be at R/T tourney would respond to this tread or at least post a reply to all the negative press they are receiving on this issue. I know they do not have to but I think it would be the right thing to do.

Re: R/T Shootout?????
I don't think that they are receiving any negative press. We don't even know FOR SURE when the new date will be. I will be out of town next weekend and would be upset if that is when the date is set for, but I understand that there will also be plenty of people that can fish then. This is a fairly large tournemant and there is no way to make each of us completely happy. I thinkt that we should wait to hear from the director before we jump to conclusions.
Brian, don't make it this weekend.
