Its more than winds- Its a combo of tracking particles, Satellite images and winds.

"These are produced by tracking simulated, near surface particles using the model derived velocity fields in time and space with new particles released every three hours to simulate a continual release of oil. The initial locations of drifters are based on satellite remotely sensed oil slick patches which is provided by Dr. Chunming Hu from USF. The black dots are the particle locations and the magenta dots are the patricle paths. The arrows are the wind vectors. The grey lines are the depth contours"

The more maps, models, schematics, etc. I look at the smaller our beloved Gulf coastline appears. I don't know what the think or hope for other than
a way to stop the leak and get it cleaned up before a tropical storm or God forbid a hurricane!

I wonder why the hay idea of soaking up the oil hasn't gained more attention.

Walton County is "stubbornly" rejecting FDEP's 'recommendation' not to use hay . . .

Gore must not have any investment in hay, but his buddy Ted Turner has plenty!

Gore has out his calculator figuring the carbon footprint so he can bill everyone! Then he can fly his private jet down and collect in person.
In exchange, those paying can only hope, at best, someday, somewhere a bush or maybe even a tree will get planted. But I'm sure the administrative fees are
off the charts!

Maybe I've missed it but have not seen any efforts on his behalf to help folks with flood damage in TN! I would bet my last nickel he
would not do anything without publicity.

I am still wondering why Gore's buddy Jessee and the gang haven't been down to protest in Nashville. Surely there are some democrats there that built in the flood plain and need bailing out.

Not many dems flooded in Nashville. Most of the places that flooded are HIGH dollar homes and businesses.
