Check out the Shimano Citica. They are built on the same body as the Curado so they are super light but their only draw back is they don"t cast light weight lures as well as the Curado.
I too am in the market for a baitcaster and looked at the Citica - from what I see, it's a "Freshwater" reel.

Pardon my ignorance, but is there a difference? What makes a saltwater reel a "saltwater" reel? Would a "freshwater" reel survive long term in salty water? (Of course I will hose it down & clean like normal.

The Citica is a salt & fresh water reel, or at least that's what the people at Shimano told me.
Saltwater reels will have more corrosion resist bearings and internals gears.

So you gonna have some surplus tackle that needs a new home Bman?

Interestingly (and unrelated to Bman's topic) - I just put some line on my bass reel - and I discovered that it is a Shimano Bantam Citica Ci200. It's about 12 years old, so I stripped it down and gave it a good greasing and oiling, but it seems to be running fine. I think I'll just look for an inexpensive 7' rod and turn this into my inshore plug chunker!
