Chalk, I am am pretty frugal. Saving up for the Hells Bay.
Glad to hear you found fish in shallow water.

Hells Bay....Ball park here:
$24000 for a HB / $4.00 (avg mag) = 6000 / 12 = 500 years to save for a Hells Bay :o 2 mags will cut it in half :wink: :-D

No, I don't really have my sights set on a Hells Bay. A Carolina Skiff or the right welded aluminum is more in line with what I can afford, eventually. Meanwhile, I think me & my margarine tub of a boat have had quite a good time. :D

During the winter, I also keep an eye on water clarity. The water can get REALLY clear during winter months, especially when we don't have much rain for a while (like last week). When the water is gin clear, I like to fish on overcast days, or very early or late when the sun isn't letting the fishies know exactly where you are. I've seen more sunnings reds this year than in any year past, but it's almost impossible to get close enough to get a cast.
