I also agree that we should keep it at 1 fish per person. My reasoning is simple, changing it to 2 Reds per person CAN'T help the redfish population, so I prefer to keep it the way that it is.

Showboat has a good point. A nice 25" plus Redfish has plenty of meat on it. Just catch bigger fish!

Think about Winter Redfishing....you will have boats with 4 anglers having the ability to keep 8 Reds per day. We all know how many boats are on the rivers during the Winter.... could be a lot of "channel bass" taken during these months, most of which will be juveniles. Don't like it, no sir, not one bit. :smt009

Close the redfish season during winter, when they are "in a barrell" so to speak. Let's face it, other than the winter, not a lot of those out there on the flats are tearing up the reds like some of the talented fishermen on this board!
Most will catch a couple, and will mostly be targeting trout anyway.

The good news is the folks that want to leave the limit at 1 do not have to keep 2 fish :D You can still just keep 1 and release the rest. The law does not say you have to keep 2. It is true the limit has doubled - but - that does not mean the actual take will double.
You just can't fix stupid.

Keyser a 25 " fish might feed you but not two people, I have four people in my family and one redfish will not feed all of us.
Plenty of redfish out there for people to eat.

Looks like the Georgia boys are living up to their reputation. :smt005 Completely kidding...
Just reviewed who thought what and had to say something. :-D

Guess if I had to drive that distance to get to the coast, I would be for the 2 Redfish limit also...but I don't. So I say, stick with what has been working.

Also, if cleaned correctly, you should get plenty of grub for at least two people off of a 25" Redfish. Heck, that's a slab per person. Toss in some cheese grits, and a nice garden salad with Ranch and your all set. Well, I also suggest a cold Natty to warsh her down.

Easy there Capt., I know quite a few FL folks that'll box anything big enough to bite a hook.

Come on Heath, you dont drive all the way to the coast to put food on the table for the family. And have you ever heard of hush puppy's and french fries. Makes that 18 1/8 red go a lot further on the dinner table.
