I have never fished the Alligator Pt. Mud Flats, but I can tell you how we caught them over here in Panama City a few weeks ago. If you have a castnet, net you up some bull minnows/tiger minnows. They are like CRACK to a flounder! If you drag it by a flounder he will eat it no matter the time of day or tidal current. Put the minnow on a small khale hook (#2 -#4) about 18" behind a small egg sinker. Cast it and slowly drag it back to you. When a flounder takes the bait sometimes it will just feel like you are hung on bottom...other times you will feel a slight thump...rarely will you ever have a hard hit. Good luck.
