So sorry to hear about the passing of your dad, Dave. There are no words that can completely ease the pain of losing a parent, but know that the prayers are going up for you and your family

Dave, sorry for this loss. FWIW:
Please take time for yourself, by yourself and don't put off the grieving till later.
I don't know your family makeup but if you are in charge of all the 'stuff' I suggest (by experience) to not allow estate business to override your needs.
I delayed this for over six months and the next holiday (Thanksgiving and Christmas) I was in emotional shambles.
Please take the time you need to reflect, cry, be angry... everyone who loses someone who is or has been a significant person in their life MUST take the time that is required to recover.
With time the burden will ease and the happy memories will take the forefront. Please know that for those who have been through similar loss, they share losing your Dad and understand what you may be going through.
Please take time for yourself, by yourself and don't put off the grieving till later.

Guys, your words mean more to me than you can imagine. This is without a doubt the hardest thing I have ever encountered. We were so close and I can not believe he is gone. I am so thankful for my friends. I have looked back at this thread several times and it has helped me. I really appreciate it and thanks for the emails and texts too. It is going to be tough to move on.

I just want to say thanks again to you guys. I am still getting emails, calls and cards from my BBF.net friends. It really means a lot to me. I appreciate it more than you can imagine.
