It's fun to think it might be an escaped red wolf but it is highly unlikely. They keep a really close check on those critters. Maybe one day we will see them wild again. A lot of folks hate coyotes but I personally love to see and hear them. It makes the world seem a little wilder and less crowded. Having actual wolves back would be something I'd like to see, although I'm sure many would disagree completely with my thoughts on these two animals.
I hunted a deer club up around Greene County, GA a few years ago. It was loaded with coyotes and the name of the club was "The Black Coyote" because there were several that were very dark to blackish in color. I never got to see one but Mullet was in the club for years and I'm pretty sure he saw them quite a few times.

Coyote. We've got a few solid black ones on the farm. Took one out this year in early November, but can't find the pic. Here are a few of his posse that also met his fate....

The picture of them in my Geo is especially for Bman..... :-D

Tom,

I can't believe you put those smelly azzzed critters in your car. Coyote is one of the nasty animals I've ever killed.

Saw a full-grown coyote walking along Hwy. 98 today bayside, just east of Lanark at 1 p.m. He seemed perfectly at ease. Maybe he just had a redfish basket with cole slaw and fries for lunch.

Good talking with you at the tarpon seminar today and thanks for the tip.

Same here. You've got me thinking about scaling down my spinning gear.
