Well, today I changed out the propane tank and lure scent on my Mosquito Magnet. Just for kicks, I decided to count how many the trap caught over the past 3 weeks. I dumped the trap net out onto an 8.5" x 11" piece of paper. Just as I began counting, a puff of wind blew a few dead skeeters away. I'm guessing 20 or so. It took me a while to count but I counted 289 dead bugs in the net for the previous 3 weeks. Add back the 20 or so that blew away and it's over 300 dead skeeters. Below is a picture of what I dumped out of the net prior to counting. Like I said, it definately kills mosquitos but I'm not sure it makes a noticeable difference at my house and it's expensive to operate.

Worst I've ever seen them this year out 90 E. I spray down now everytime I go outside or you can't stand to be out there.

A couple of weeks ago it was horrible, but now seems to have subsided. I have a couple of bats I see flying around at night. They must be making a dent in the population.

This sounds crazy but someone told me about it and IT WORKED! On our back porch we had loads of skeeters and I wanted them gone. A friend suggested I spray them with windex...the blue stuff.....it killed them instantly! I was shocked but it sure did work well. When the windex hit them they went down and were gone. I don't know how it would work if you sprayed it around outside but it couldn't hurt to try.

TS Debby hit us about a month ago leaving lots of standing water. Mosquitos lay eggs in standing water but they only have life spans of 2-3 weeks. I think most of the reduction most of us are feeling is due to their natural life cycle.

Windex is also great for mosquito bites. Stops the itch in just a few minutes. Dont believe me? Try it. Works better than anything else( cortisone cream etc)
