Thanks for all the great ideas everyone. I really appreciate it. Weavans, stay away from Walmart. The word on the street is that they are supporting legislature to ban recreational fishing in certain areas. We don't want that door even cracked open. Not to mention all of the other reasons not to shop there. Shop local!!!

I got the Guardsman insurance from Ashley about 18 months ago on a recliner. The footrest broke a few months ago, I called the next day and scheduled a maintenance visit. They took pictures of the damage and said they'd let me know whether Guardsman would replace or fix it. About a week after that, I got a message telling me when my new recliner would be delivered. All I did was tell them that I wasn't sure how exactly it broke (the truth). It was about a 6 week process from the first phone call to the day it was delivered, but I can't really complain, it didn't cost a dime. I'd get it again. 100 bucks for 5 years repair or replace.

The problem, red, is that they can deny you for any reason they want, the leather on my couch tore for no reason. I told them it started with a dimple and then tore. They told me "cracked " leather isn't covered. But if my dog ripped it, that would be covered. Does that make any sense? If it is my fault, they will replace or repair it, if it just tears on its own, I'm on my own. Red, I'm glad you had a better experience, but I still strongly recommend no one get the guardsman "warrantee" . Your recliner shouldn't have broken so soon after purchase. Maybe the solution is to not shop at Ashley either. I can assure you, they will not see another dime of mine.
