Lizbeth,

Do you do your own painting? If so, how do you do the webbing effect? My wife's Marine is home also (ME!)

hey, CSMarine the webbing comes in a spray can. Michaels Craft Store is the only place that I know that carries it.

Thanks lizbeth. Who would have thunk it! I've tried many different methods to get the webbing effect on boats I've built. Never would have thought it would come in a spray can.
Got two boats now just waiting on the webbing to finish them. I would imagine it would be fairly expensive. How many cans would you use for your Gheenoe project?

If I remember correctly, it's about 6 dollars a can, and they are the small 4.oz can's.
I bought 5 can's but I don’t' think it will take more than three, just guessing form the amount that I sprayed in the battery box.
I would love to see the boats you have built.

I worked on the Gheenoe some this weekend. I sanded and painted the bottom…did I mention sanding ?(sick of sanding) I will be putting a high build primer on the sides to get a smooth finish.

I also made a (poor girls) stick anchor bracket. It is actually made from stainless railing.

Lizbeth,
Here are a couple rebuilds. The first one was a Sunbird, fifteen foot, bowrider ski boat. Gutted it completely on the inside down to the hull. Replaced runners, stringers, floor, and installed a center console. Only original parts are the outside shell. Outstanding flats boat. Runs dryer than any boat I've ever owned.

The second one is a fourteen foot Stumpknocker. Had to repair two large holes in the side where it hit a rock. also had to replace the stringers and pour it full of floatation. Now my favorite boat. Need to paint the webbing on both boats.

I know it's been a while, but with the Holiday's, work and seeing my youngest off to Ft.Benning (me crying all day, because he is the baby) times have been busy. I did get to work on the Gheenoe the last few days. I'm attaching a few pictures.

Question, when I mount the motor bracket to the Transom, is it best to use 5200 or clear water proof caulking in the bolt holes ?
