I have known a few people to trade old shotguns for pistols or other guns. They are ALWAYS regretful down the road. Always! If you really need the money, then go for it. But if not, hold on to her. You will certainly regret your decision if you sell. You will never be able to replace it later for what you sell it for now. Trust me on this. Go buy a $300 mossberg pump for home protection and forget about selling your grandfathers Browning.

Thank you for the advice on the serial number. Out of curiosity why would that be a bad thing. BTW I won't be able to get the pictures up tonight as we have a sick daughter to take care of right now. Some idiot could report the firearm stolen to LEO using your serial number.

When I was kid I would go to my uncle Mo's house and stare at his guns. He told me any one on the wall was mine when he passed just pick out the one. I didn't know what I was picking but it turned out to be a browning light twelve with the gold trigger made in 1959. Lucky me plus I get to think about him every time I look in the gun cabinet. He was a wwII vet. Great man.

Great story hmaadd29! We can never say thank you enough to our veterans, especially WWII. Your uncle Mo was a great man and I personally give thanks everyday for men like him. I am going to keep the old single shot shotgun for the memories. It is more fitting considering my Grandfather was from the backwoods of Louisiana. I am going to sell the Browning A5 Auto Light Twelve. It is from 1964 and in good shape. I was told by 2 knowledgable gun people that a fair asking price is $750. I will make an official for sale post as soon as I can get my wife, the tech geek, take pictures with her phone and I can download them. If anyone is interested please email or PM me. Thank you!
