This is a 35mph zone.
36mph gets you a ticket.
Incorrect, only thing you can get for doing 5mph or less over the speed limit in FL is a warning. (Except a school zone)
This is how it usually works. Everyone, even troopers, will give you 5 over statewide (unless they are bored and think you are a drug mule...). 90+ percent of cops will only pull someone over if they're doing more than 10 over. 12-15+ is pretty much a guaranteed pull over, and often, most will not ticket you for the actual speed you were doing, but give you a break and write you for 9 over. Set your cruise to 5 over going through Carrabelle, watch the downhill on the bridge and something miraculous will happen... You won't get a ticket.

I saw someone pulled over at the bridge on Saturday, I thought of this thread.
There is a difference in enforcing the law for the well being of the citizens and being a jerk. IMO, the chief or senior officiers should get this guy in line. That is unless the department is liking the revenue. I sure hope that is not the case.
I sure hope Carrabelle does not get labeled a speed trap.

Must have been one of the more experienced officers with some common sense.

Note.........that old grey haired guy in the bright red Jeep is a law abiding taxpayer from out of town who spends oodles of money in downtown Cbelle and drives within the posted speed limit at all times. Just FYI.

The really interesting thing is I sent a personal e-mail to the Chamber of Commerce and to the City Clerks office.
No reply from either office. I did not get the e-mails returned so I know they got them. So we can assume that they like the speed traps and don't give a hoot what we think.
