One more thing.
If you had the blockage in the house duct as described,the inside of the dryer exhaust system may be internally blocked as well.
It will have to be disassembled and cleaned.
When doing this also clean the drum roller shafts.
Clean the tension roller shaft.
Check the felt seals for damage.
Replace the belt.

1.What size loads are you drying? Normal? Heavy?
2.Is the washer spinning out really good?
3.What do you mean by "snake back down into the vent"? Your duct from the dryer should over the wall vent NOT inside it.
4.How far is the wall vent from the dryer vent?
5.Do you have an accurate thermometer you could put inside the dryer exhaust duct? Then run the dryer on high heat with no laundry to get a accurate heat reading from the exhaust temperature.NOTE(it will increase,then decrease,then increase again.)It should be 160 degrees or higher.

Hey JT: Thanks for the reply.

1. We run normal to Heavy loads. 2. The washer is doing a good job of spinning out the clothes.
3. I shouldn't have said "into" the vent. What I meant was the vent comes out of the dryer, has to 90 up to get above the outside exhaust vent and then it kinda 90's down over the exhaust vent, basically it comes out of the back of the dryer and then "camel backs" up to get on top of the exhaust vent.
4. The wall vent and dryer vent are only a foot or so apart (WHICH TO ME, THIS MAY BE THE ISSUE, i.e. it's causing the vent to "crimp up" on the 90's, BUT, I've got pretty good exhaust coming out of the pipe outside (just on the other side of the house wall).
5. I don't have an accurate thermometer, but when I took the vent off earlier this week like you suggested, it was doing the clothes right and had the laudry room in "sauna mode".

I'm really thinking that it's a combination of maybe the vent having too tight of bends, too large of loads, and maybe just an "average" dryer that was subpar to our last 10 year old used one....
I have included a couple of pics of the dryer. These pics represent how it currently sits (i.e. I didn't pull the dryer out away from the wall, etc, this is operating mode).

Take a good well lit picture of the vent in the wall without the connecting duct.
A couple angles would be good.
Top down.
Right and left.
What material is the wall vent? PVC?

LORDY ME, JUST GET YA SOME 2X12 LUMBER MAKE A SQUARE STAND, PUT DOWN A SHEET OF 3/4 IN. PLYBOARD SO THE VENT IS HIGHER THAN THE WALL VENT INTAKE, BET YA A 20 PENNY NAIL THIS WILL WORK.

I hear ya Pa, I hear ya. I talked about building up a platform, but the "lady of the house" was against this. Lord forbid the dryer be higher than the washer........

Hey JT: The vent in the wall is metal, a pre-fabbed metal pan with the vent. Here's some pics. If you don't see anything really wrong, then I will just keep on keeping on and not worry about it too much (unless momma says I can elevate it).

OK. This one of the products you need.

They have these at Lowes and Home Depot also. Sears had a picture.

The other 2 will be a short piece of 4 inch duct and a 4 inch 90 .
The periscope will attach to the dryer.
The short piece of duct will attach to the duct in the wall.
The 4 inch 90 will connect the periscope to the short piece of 4 inch pipe in the wall.
This will work much better than any flex duct connector and reduce friction drag from the air flow.

Found one at LOWES too. Cost less.

It took a while to get by Home Depot to get the periscope/set up JT advised me to get, but I did last week and WOW what a difference this new set up made. The clothes are drying like they should in literally half the time they were drying before. A big ol shout out and THANKS to JT for providing the guidance on getting this issue resolved. I really do appreciate your help with getting this problem solved.
