Just remember, when you are in a boat on the water you are the highest point. Electrical charge can build when moving from the air rushing over the boat. Shouldn't leave any lightening rods, I mean fishing rods in rod holders either. Lay them on the floor if you get caught in a storm.

The boat has a large engine and products a lot of heat could be the reason for a hit on any kind of boat.
