That's really great info. Kinda what was going through my mind is how it would go for me. Actually I need to work 10 more years or so, which makes maybe just buying some land the way to go. I already have a place at Econfina which is great and affordable for now. Lots of things to think about. Back in the day it would be great to have that 2nd home but looks like its not really affordable or worth chasing it anymore. I guess these reasons cut out a lot of potential buyers in the Florida market which probably drove prices way down , flooded the market with a lot of stuff that won't sale and made it really hard on people like yourself who had to scramble to buy insurance and hope you really got insurance if you need it. I'd really be nervous on these new companies having you over a barrel when it came time to pay up. Especially in a disaster.
