Gary, I would think if you launched at the Mounds Pool levee and fished for Bass over to Stoney Bayou where you switched to Trout and Reds you would stand a chance.

				Ray,
That was very close to what I did. I started at Stoney Pool #2 (freshwater), then drug the canoe over the levee to Deep Creek canals. Two mistakes:
1. Neither of my 2 quick go-to spots for 6lb bass produced, but I was too stubborn to cut losses & head right to salt until I wasted 3 hours in the pool.
2. Assumed Deep Creek levee was not still awash in rainy run-off from previous week. Had to paddle 45min to get to Stoney Bayou water salty enough for trout/reds.
Reminding myself that sub-par outings can be the best way to learn for next time. Glad I have a day job. Highlight of the day: finding scads of wild blackberries on the Deep Creek levee while portaging the canoe. I guess that's kinda like making lemonade out of lemons!
