SEA GURL BE CAREFUL GOING OUT THE MOUTH OF THE RIVER IF IT IS ANYWHERE NEAR LOW TIDE, JUST FOLLOW THE PVC WHITE PIPES AND STAY BETWEEN THEM. WE GENERALLY GO A LITTLE TO THE S.E. AFTER CLEARING THE TRIPOD, ABOUT A MILE FROM THE MOUTH OF THE RIVER, IF WE DO NOT DO MUCH THERE WE THEN HEAD ON OUT TO THE BIRD RACKS, YOU CAN SEE THEM IF YOU ARE A MILE OUT, THERE ARE TWO OF THEM AND THE FISHING IS GOOD FROM A MILE OUT ALL THE WAY TO THE BIRD RACKS. ANOTHER GOOD SPOT IS ABOUT A MILE EAST AFTER YOU GET OUT FROM SHORE ABOUT A MILE. GENERALLY YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH ROCKS WHEN YOU ARE 300-400 YARDS OUT FROM SHORE IF IT IS AT LEAST AN HOUR AWAY FROM LOW TIDE. WE ALWAYS USE ARTIFICIAL BAITS, TOP WATER, DIVING PLUGS WITH LIPS ON THEM AND USUALLY DRAG A COUPLE OF DOA'S UNDER POPPING CORKS BEHIND THE BOAT. WE DO NOT USE CUT BAIT OR SHRIMP BECAUSE OF THE ABUNDANCE OF CATFISH THAT WILL DRIVE YOU WILD.
COME ON DOWN TOMORROW, WE WILL BE IN A ANTIQUE LARSON, BLUE WITH SEVERAL WHITE PIN STRIPES AND WHITE TOP CAP.
:D :D :D :-D :-D PA.

Thanks JumpTrout51 for the tips.

Can you run straight out or take it easy? If I go left or right - how far off shore or just go by water depth? By your description, those directions would be best taken easy, correct?

You pretty much answered my questions to SeaTrout51. Sounds like something I can handle - I'm very careful anyway.

Wish I could head to the water tomorrow but SOME of us HAVE to make a living if we are to continue fishing on the weekends :P

I'll post a report after my adventure. You folks are sure a helpful bunch!

A little more advice anything past the tripod made of PVC and looks like PVC pipe is not a channel marker it would be a hazard, some are red, but after a while they turn white.....best advice is to run slow and be cautious and observant....

Thanks Chalk - I'm printing out all this good advice and taking it with me. I'm looking forward to exploring a new place, and maybe catch some fish to boot!

Everyone have a great weekend!
