Bold removed on my original post so there can be peace in the valley.

That Red does look pretty bad.

Interesting that they released below slot fish. That info would make having your official measuring ruler and an operable camera essential. I'm not sure how many if any of the registered anglers knew about that. I certainly didn't and I have called myself paying attention. I'm starting to think the guy in the picture might need to request a ruling from the powers that be. He may have assumed as SG said that he could pick up the measuring device on the way home.

No hard feelings here Rocky, just funnin'. The rules are the rules. Honestly, I thought the ruler was for the other categories, and if I caught a tagged red, it was going in the cooler for a ride to the cca office. You know what happens when we assume( like th angler), but I assumed all fish would be in slot and you could call and set up a meeting. I guess it pays to read the rules entirely.
That fish could be unhealthy, or it could have sat in the livewell for a couple of hours before the pic was taken. They loose a lot of color when in the well.the one I caught last year was healthy, with a decent girth, but only grew 1" in 8-9 months. One caught in PC around the same time was 26" and they were the same size when released.

Just received two alerts from the STAR HQ.

1. Any registered angler who catches a tagged redfish will take home their CHOICE of any remaining top prizes (GMC pick-up or one of the boats).

2. Any registered adult angler who submits a verified catch in any division (excluding conservation and guide divisions) will be entered into a winner's CHOICE drawing to be made at the end of the tournament for one of the last remaining tagged redfish prizes!

Still almost a month to go. Make sure you're registered, document all catches with photos on the official measuring device and submit those fish. It would be great to have Big Bend forum members winning some big STAR prizes.

Good luck and tight lines.

No, a bunch caught by non-registered anglers, plus a couple DQs.

Well you sold me, I registered! I am only fishing for Redfish, so that Im clear, it has to be a tagged Redfish that is within the STATE regulation size and I have to have the official ruler and just take a photo of him against the ruler, and then call the Tournament director?

If I am reading it correctly, the truck was the first prize and has already been awarded, so the next prize is the Contender.

That's wrong. The Chevy prize was repossessed due to a dq. The update from star now says you get to pick

You guys keep saying DQ what do you mean, why was the first registered catch disqualified?

On my app it shows this as the first STAR tagged Redfish caught and that the GMC truck was awarded.

No grand prizes awarded. First guy was DQ'ed after an investigation. I would think lying about who/when caught the fish was involved.

The next angler to catch a tagged Red gets to pick from any of the 4 boats and one truck. Also one grand prize will go to a random drawing of all entries at the end of the tournament.

DQ doesn't mean Dairy Queen, it means disqualified
