I'm not just bashing this product without experience. I fell for it too. I hit the same rock as mentioned above. Nicked off a small piece of skeg. Bought a skeg guard and then hit another rock. It knocked off the guard along with the rest of my skeg so that there was not enough left to mount another one if I wanted too(sheered off right at the holes that I drilled for the guard). I bought a replacement skeg took it to a welding shop and had it welded back on for less money that that stupid skeg guard cost.
