So how is charging for boat ramp use "unrelated income" for a boat club?

I could send you some links to read up on the taxation and operation of a not for profit organization....but I think we should just go fishing instead.

Nope, old tax law rule of substance over form. If you must "donate" to use, then it ain't a donation for tax purposes.Steve Stinson wrote:Couldn't they do the same thing by considering ramp fees "donations" and changing the notation on their money box to "$10 Donation for use of ramp"?

All I am going to say is that I hold an LLM in Tax from UF law school and I agree with this decision. I've already nodded off on said regs!
