Well, here’s my update from yesterday. Went sight fishing between Shell Point and St. Marks and while I saw a few Reds and a few Sheepies, and got a shot at both, didn’t hook either. So I went to and wade fished one of my favorite trout bars and got squat. So I went to another bar that I usually do well at and with overcast conditions and minimal breeze, I threw the Gurgler (surface fly) for about 30 minutes expecting a cruiser or something to crush it and…jack squat. Was a quiet day out there and I did have a Seagull pick up my Gurgler and fly up about 2 feet before dropping it. The wife said that qualifies as a hit/strike. Also saw 2 Swallow Tailed Kites which is always cool.

When I returned to the dock a guy stopped by on his way in and told me he caught 15 trout including a dozen 10-12”‘ers and 3 15” keepers. Personally, I’d rather have my fishing day than his day throwing plastics and catching teenyboppers. New Penny and White/Chartreuse Tails were his plastics colors. Not sure what type of water he was fishing.

PS - just a week ago I limited on Trout 2 days in a row with most of them in the 17/18” range. On ay 2 my pal landed a nice Trout just shy of 23’ on a Bone ZaraSpook. That fish was a “slab” as they say. Thick fish.

And now, the rigors of a manual bilge pump. We’ve gotten over 1.5” of rain since midnight.
