Goutrage, that's a new one on me, too. Never heard of Cooper's Flats. If ya find out where it is, let us know. We probably might know where it is, but didn't know that's what it's called.

Thanks Wevans and TC. Just been wondering, since he told me that.
I asked the old guy, we fished with yesterday, and he said, he thought, that might be up on the Crooked River a mile or so above the split.
'Wasn't sure, though.

Sounds like the one I was thinking about but I've never come in from that direction It's a long run from my direction

There is an area about a mile up Crooked River where the river channel holds to the outside bend on a long curved bank, and the rest of the river bed is pretty shallow sand. There are a few old pilings (remnants from some sort of bridge), and a camp on the hill. Is this where you're thinkin, Wevans?

Sounds about right TC it's about 10 miles or so from Macintire Landing

OK, we used to put in at the ole Brothers three resturant and we had some pretty good luck around there. Ive fished alittle ways up the river, but never much luck. That shot qoutrage posted of the Sopchoppy/ Ochlocknee area looks like it could be a plus, only my printer is on the outs right now.About these Cooper Flats...has anyone actually had any luck there?

I've fished upstream from the State Park a few times, and on the Crooked River from the other direction. Lot's of pretty water up there and 'reminds me of fishing the Ochlocknee up around Thomasville as a kid.
Coopers Flats? For all I know there may not be such a place in the area..since no one has heard of it.
I do know, it is a pretty ride from the State Park up to McIntire, and particularly on the Crooked River from the other direction. The fishing ought to be good about anyplace up there, if you can catch 'em biting. The wife and I have caught a few nice bream on the CR, but only fished it a few times. Needless to say, the flys and skeeters will tote you away in the summertime, if you don't use a lot of bug dope.
I have never fished the Sochoppy or Ochlocknee below the State Park.
Mako, that aerial picture of the area, wouldn't be much to navigate by.
If I find something better I'll send it to ya.
A note on the Crooked River- There are a couple of narrow and shallow spots a mile or two to the east of the bridge on 67, but they are passable.

I don't Bream fish so can't tell ya a lot about that I have caught some very nice Bass in CR and the flats that I am thinking is Coopers holds a good many Bass at certain times of the year and I have caught some very nice Bream on my top water lures while Bass fishing also
When you put in at Brothers Three, you was at the mouth of the Sopchoppy If you was to run up river for 2 or 3 miles you would start getting into the better fresh water fishing I will see if I can put together a map with names on it "TC may have to help with the naming" I tend to get the names confussed sometimes

Looks pretty clear to me. But I've been there before.

That's a good map to get started with. There are enough fishin places on that map to keep you busy for a year.

Darn guys. I got to get the War Eagle in the water there. I bet you could kill a few ducks while fishing too! Thanks for the map.
