No--those guys are fiddler crabs that burrow along the edge of the salt marshes. Much different than the swimming blue crabs. But fiddlers might work also. Would be interesting to give them a try. Let us know if you do.

I think those are fiddler crabs. I think most people use blue crabs for bait. I saw a couple tying raw chicken to a string and throwing it in the water and leaving it a few minutes until it attracted the crabs. They would pull in the string real slow and the blue crabs would not let go of the chicken then they would catch them in a net. Then I saw another person just toss a throw net over where the chicken had been thrown out to catch the crabs.
