Please someone call me stupid :o as the wife and sister talked me into going out tomorrow. I am going before the sun comes up and do a little fishing than going to come back and pick them up later. This way I will hopefully only have to deal with the crowds taking the boat out of the water. Wish me luck!

What ramp will have the most entertainment?

Fort or Shields? Lanark is a little far to drive just to watch avg joe try to drop his boat in the water for the first time this year.

I was seriously considering sitting at a ramp with a cooler for a few hours. Will have camera. :smt004

Wanna place a bet on how many won't start ? I'll bet every ramp has at least 3, from Econfina to Panacea.

I was thinking the fort. Single boat launch w/ concrete sides, and tough parking for the wives pulling the trailers out.

Mashes sands aint too bad a choice either, but the picnic table would have me a little too close to really "shout encouragement" safely.

Not cranking motors are tough, but I'm thinking my personal favorite comes from those who wait 8-10 trucks deep to launch, and don't start loading their boats till they are backed down.

What's the prime hour 10am or so...?

Last Sunday afternoon, I heard a guy locked his keys in his truck while on the Fort boat ramp. People started going down to Shields since the guy called a locksmith. Luckily, he got his truck unlocked fairly quickly...within 30mins I guess... I wasnt there however Im surprised someone didnt bust his window out for him.

Im hoping to go fishing in the morning with finniefish, then hang out on a friend's houseboat in St Marks. He's pretty reluctant to go cruising this weekend due to all the yoyos who'll be out. We may cruise up the river with friends but I hope to get him out on the flats at least. Maybe we'll anchor by the Fort with a video camera. :)

Mashes Sands, number 1 choice. If the tide is ripping through the ditch it gets even better.

We went inshore in St. Marks on Sunday, it wasn't bad at all (perhaps better than usual) due to White Trash Bash at Dog Island. Did have to contend with the crowds at the boat ramp, but it was still a lot better most of the day (though we DID hit the water at 4:00 in the morning, btw we weren't the first ones there!)
