Moved to a deep hole in a creek that is known to hold redfish on occasion.
By any chance did that hole have a tree limb stick'n up in the middle of it

Sounds like you didn't even have to throw the anchor out :-D

HEY JOHN, SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD YOUR HANDS FULL MOST OF THE TRIP. WE DID NOT GET A STRIKE IN 3 HOURS OF FISHING. WE USED SWA ASSASIN FLUKE, TOP WATER , SINKERS, SPINNERS, SPOONS AND JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE AND NOT NARY A STRIKE. WE LEFT ABOUT 11 A.M., WHAT TIME OF DAY WAS THE STARIKE ON? SEEMS LIKE THE WIND HAD PUSHED A LOT OF WATER INTO THE BAY, JUST A LITTLE AFTER LOW TIDE THE WATER WAS 3' DEEP IN THE CANAL GOING OUT AND WAS WAY ABOVE AVERAGE HIGH TIDE WHEN WE CAME IN. CONGRATS ON THE CATCHIN.
