Personally I catch more fish with the wind at my back. I prefer a east wind in the area I fish for the morning times and a west wind in the afternoon. This keeps the sun out of my face. East in the morning west in the afternoon.

To me, the article just applies to saltwater fishing. I've never noticed a change in saltwater - but I have in fresh water. I've seen guys go out and slay them before and after a major storm system on the gulf. On the other hand we've done great in freshwater before a storm and couldn't buy a bite afterwards - no matter what we did!!! Just fish when you can and fish hard.

I will be fishing tomorrow so I'll try and spare anyone any more waxing on such complicated topics.

From Yukondons report today (3/17)
"As long as the wind blew I caught fish, but when it layed and it got slick they turned off like a light switch."
Alas, we have our answer.
