Chalk has too much tackle ??????
No imaginiation. I have 4 times that much in the boat with me, just in case. I have seen difference in colors, so I have about 15 different colors of the grubs and lots of them. Those I carry in 2 soft bags. Then I have my main box with lures and hooks. Last but not least, I have my plastic store bag with my most recent catchs of hot colors and types
Generalizations on color are the same I"ve always heard, however, this weekend in the stained water, we caught fish on every color. The hottest color for red fish in the Aucila used to be a hot pink skirted jig. To me, fishing and fishing tackle is about discovering the pattern...color, depth, presentation.
The same is true with the generalization about calmness of water with topwater. I've had my best luck when it is calmer, but then I've had days where they popped the top in a pretty good churn. Those were the days when I saw fish hitting the surface and switched over.
So as with most things, the exceptions prove the rules.

Devil Dawg I actually only used pink on one or two lures, until the head cochise of this fine establishment got me to using it more…. But it doesn’t catch anything for me….I’m just a sucker for color coordination on the boat…it goes well with the black hooks, black rods, compliments the blue color of the boat….It’s all about looking good, that’s all…don’t buy pink trust me, it causes fish slime to get in the boat…I have to get the net out,…my hands get fish slime on them…my guests have to stop and net my fish….It’s really a burden on the day, please do me a favor and do not impede your boat guests to the encumber some trouble of pink…..If you get caught in the paradigm of pink, you can seek help from POOP (People Offinsively Offended by Pink).

Good gosh, for a man worried about losing his nads he sure embraces the color pink. I go to Wally World all the time, use the "lure in the cart" trick and if I even noticed pink lures (I've evidently overlooked them), I would shy away from them to avoid drawing my wife's attention and the teasing I would get on my color preference... on a more serious note, when I saw Chalk had pink plastics, a pink CT, pink top-waters, and pink jig heads to boot, I thought something had to be wrong with my monitor and it was showing red as pink... that is until I saw very red jig heads right next to the mass of pink ones!
Gyrene, he also wears a pink shirt to work most days.
However, the yellow sun dress best compliments his complection.
Chalk's choice of color for fishing baits is just one of the many unique characteristics of Chalk.
There have been a couple of days when Chalk's pink baits paid off. That's what the fish bit best. The bottom line is that's one of his confidence colors. As a result, I now own a few pink baits. But I don't own a sun dress.

Agree with the topwater success in choppy water. Never can tell.
I'd add that 2 gallon ziplocks are also very useful for arranging different sets of gear.
Given that I don't have a "boat" I'm often rearranging my gear for different trips because when I go with other people I want to be as efficient as possible and not take up too much space. I use one of those medium sized storage containers (like the ones for storing stuff in a garage or shed) for carrying everything -extra clothes, lunch, tackle, etc. The lid snaps on both sides and it's quick to seal and protect everything as well as load and pack quickly.
By the way, the WalMart strategy sure does ring a bell.
My junkie self has at least as much gear as the stuff in Chalks pics, although I do include a lot more Chug Bugs. Somebody needs to work one side by side when he's got the Skitter Walk. My bets are on the Chug Bug.

I generally carry 3 plano 5700 boxes full of lures, jigheads, etc. and then probably a dozen bags of assorted soft baits. Every now and then I'll clean out some stuff and drop back down to 2 boxes, but that doesn't last long. Like others have said I have probably 4 or 5 lures that by far get the most use. I always have a jig of some sort rigged on a rod, and I always have an inline spinner or buzzbait rigged.
If you're going to have some fishing time available while you're over here let me know. The flounder should be biting pretty good by then and the specs should be hitting early topwater plugs.

chalk, impressive collection. Whats even more impressive is the organization. I'd probably have as much stuff if I gathered it all up and put it in one place. I noticed you have some offset widgapped hooks in there with weighted shanks. Where may I ask did you get those? I have been looking for them for a while with no luck. The only place I can seem to find them is at bass pro but I dont get to one of those but about 2-3 times a year. I know DOA makes a weight that crimps to hook shanks but I cant seem to find those either.

Flutter hooks...I have got them from Half Hitch Tackle, Howell Tackle...wanna say Walmart down here has had them as well
For the record, I have another bag I carry with me that is full of soft plastics....Also other than CairoTrout (owning a tackle store)...nobody has more tackle than Tincan....I can almost put money on it, he could start a tackle store

Our sponsor Half Hitch is also the only place I've seen a favorite item that wasn't in Chalks tackle store -Capt Mikes jigs. In particular, the 1/16oz version. They're wide gapped & extra heavy gauge. The Assassin makes a 1/16 and it's good but the shank is shorter.
