Can't wait to go again. One interesting thing said by Jason was that redfish are one of the hardest to catch consistently on the fly, as you need pretty accurate casting given their eyesight. Get good at reds, and you can do it all.

RS-if you don't mind sharing; what leader formula did your friend recommend for tarpoon and what type of flies did ya'll toss. Thanks.

Welcome to the club, Bro - ya did good for a "yearling", first time out - but I must warn you (as your friend, the guide, should have) it usually don't get that easy, okay! And, before you make your wife really mad like I did mine about 12 years ago : KISS, go slow on the equipment, at first, it's hard to do, but, try! And, learn to tie your own flies (it will save you tons of $$$ in the long run). Finally, Tarpon are not the only species that are out there to be had on the fly rods - but, they are the most expensive fish!

They were chartuese and dark colored deceivers, mostly. There was a bait imitation that looked like a screamer.

My buddy said he believed in colors more than patterns, but admitted the local guides may think different. As to leader formula, sorry, it was borrowed equipment and i didn't get that down.
